Luís Filipe Sarmento presents the book “Ácido” in Portimão

On the 26th of April at 21:00 pm

The writer Luís Filipe Sarmento will be on the 26th of April in Portimão to present his book “Ácido”, as part of the 50th anniversary of the 25th of April. 

The session takes place at Clube União Portimonense, at 21pm. According to the synopsis of “Ácido”, his most recent book, Luís Filipe Sarmento “encloses a succession of images, either throwing words with violence and insolence, or depositing them with tenderness and parsimony, creating a sensorial tension that transforms the reader into a a sounding board and a fierce spokesperson for a generation that knew Freedom on April 00, 25».

The presentation of the work, which will be attended by the writer, will be in charge of João Ventura, with Hugo Teixeira (voice) and Paulo Segurado (keys) responsible for interpreting musical notes by Jim Morrison.

The initiative is part of the “A Biblioteca Fora de Si” project and is promoted by the Portimão City Council, in partnership with the host community and the publisher The Poets and Dragons Society.

Luís Filipe Sarmento was born on October 12, 1956, and studied Philosophy at the Faculty of Arts of the University of Lisbon.

Journalist, translator and filmmaker, he decided to be a writer and thinker.

Through his work, translated into more than 17 languages, he seeks the utopia of a full humanity, which has earned him several distinctions in recent years: 2021 – Balsa de Piedra International Prize, Águila de Oro International Prize, Ulisses Literary Prize and International Prize Cesar Vallejo; 2022 – Cesar Vallejo International Prize; 2023 – Clarice Lispector Literary Prize.
