Kayak Clube Castores do Arade won eight medals in the National Championship

The Kayak Clube Castores do Arade (KCCA) participated, on the 23rd and 24th of March, in the National Speed ​​Championship, with athletes and won eight medals. 

The Lagoa team now has Ana Bebiano, Norberto Mourão, Liudmyla Babak and Olefirenko Olersevich as national champions.

Luís Marques, Inês Carapinha and Cátia Serôdio became national runners-up and in third place was Inês Batista.

In the general classification, Kayak Clube Castores do Arade was the 12th national club with 1441 points and, in the masters classification, it was the 2nd best club behind Clube Fluvial Vilacondense with 780 points.

In terms of individual classification, the athletes who reached the top 10 nationally also stood out: Clélia Santos (4th place female cadets); Lara Carapinha (5th place female cadet); Ianis Bebiano (5th place male cadet); Natasha Luckman (6th place master B); Lília Calado (9th place master B); Patrícia Serôdio (10th place master B); Nuno Silva (7th place master B); Sérgio Carapinha (10th place master B) and Pedro Marques (7th place master A).

«Despite not entering the TOP 10, the athletes Lucas Cabrita 13th, Henrique Bernardo 13th Leonor Matos 12th, competed in classes with many athletes and had a good sporting performance», the club also states.

In a statement, the KCCA highlights that «Portuguese canoeing is at an increasingly demanding level and that these results are a reflection of a lot of effort and daily commitment on the part of athletes and coaches. As the Portuguese NELO said, being good in Portugal means being good internationally».

The next competition will be the Portuguese Crew Cup, in Coimbra, on the 6th and 7th of April.
