Government approves Stability Program without impact of executive program measures

The Government approved today, in the Council of Ministers, the Stability Program, which will deliver to parliament on April 15th, a document based on invariant policies and which does not yet include the measures foreseen in the executive's program.

In a statement released after the end of the Council of Ministers meeting, the Government reveals that «it approved the update of the 2024-2028 Stability Program for delivery to the Assembly of the Republic on April 15th».

The Government also decided that the presentation of the Grand Options law proposal will be approved by the Government for sending to the Assembly of the Republic within 90 days after the executive takes office.

Furthermore, the Government will deliver the 2024/2028 Stability Program next Monday, to the Assembly of the Republic, a document that will then be sent to Brussels and which will have a parliamentary debate on the 24th.

This calendar was established today at a meeting of the leaders' conference and was advanced by the Minister of Parliamentary Affairs Pedro Duarte.

According to the spokesperson for the conference of leaders, social-democratic deputy Jorge Paulo Oliveira, the 14 permanent parliamentary committees for the current legislature were also established – a proposal that should be voted on next Friday.
