GNR detains 55 people and detects 533 traffic violations in the last week in the Algarve

Between the 1st and the 7th of April

55 detainees and 533 infractions detected last week in the Algarve were some of the results of operations to combat violent crime, road inspection, among others, carried out between the 1st and 7th of April in the Algarve. 

Of the 55 detainees, the GNR highlights 17 for driving without a legal license, 14 for driving under the influence of alcohol and seven for drug trafficking. 

Of the infractions, 147 were for speeding, 53 for lack of mandatory periodic inspection, 22 for lack of or incorrect use of seat belts and/or child restraint systems, 20 for lack of civil liability insurance, 20 related to anomalies in lighting and signaling systems and 14 due to improper use of a cell phone while driving.

During this period, they were also seized 94 doses of hashish, 44 of cocaine, 33 of heroin, five shotguns, a pistol, an airsoft pistol, various ammunition of various calibers and two defense aerosols.

There are still 136 accidents to be recorded, which resulted in one serious injury and 33 minor injuries.
