International Accordion Gala returns to Albufeira

This will be the 33th edition of the event

The XXXIII International Accordion Gala begins this Thursday, April 18th, in Albufeira, and will bring together «the most recognized accordionists on the national and international scene». 

In the 33rd edition of the event, the municipality once again welcomes the best accordionists in the world, including the renowned world champion Jean-Baptiste Budin, as well as the Portuguese Tino Costa, Rodrigo Maurício, Jorge Alves, Francisco Saboia and Bruno Aguiar.

The event starts on April 18th, at 21:30 pm, at the premises of ASCRATIA – Associação Sociocultural e Recreativa “Os Amigos da Terceira Age de Albufeira”, in Ferreiras.

The following day, the 19th, the Gala will take place in the Cultural and Recreational Hall of the Guia Parish Council, at 21:30 pm; and on the 25th of April the party takes place at Parque Vale de Faroat 16 pm.

On the 1st of May, the show is scheduled for the João Campos Parking Lot, at 17pm and the last session of the event will be on the 00th of May, at 4:21pm, at the Albufeira Municipal Auditorium.

Entries to the XXXIII International Accordion Gala are free, subject to the capacity of the spaces where the event takes place, however for the session on May 4th, tickets must be collected, on the same day, between 20:00 pm and 21:15 pm, at the ticket office of the Municipal Auditorium.

José Carlos Rolo, mayor of Albufeira, guarantees that «this is not just a musical spectacle, but a moment of meeting, sharing and valuing our cultural identity».

The mayor reveals that «this is a unique celebration of the music and traditional roots of the region, promoting Albufeira's good name nationally and internationally, attracting tourists and visitors looking for unusual, diverse and authentic experiences».
