Francisco Serra ceases his duties as president of the AlgarveSTP Association

Until now vice-president Paulo Santos assumed the role of interim president

Francisco Serra left, on March 31st, his position as president of the Board of AlgarveSTP – Algarve Systems and Technology Partnership Association, for reasons of retirement.

Francisco Serra has a doctorate in Economics and Business Administration, and, in addition to the presidency of AlgarveSTP, since January 2021, he has also served as director of the Department of Teaching, Innovation and Research at the Centro Hospitalar Universitário do Algarve (CHUA).

With a CV that stands out for his service to the region, he was a member of the Board of Directors of the Hospital de Faro (2006-2012) president of the CRESC Algarve 2012 Program Management Authority and president of EUROAAA – Euroregion Algarve-Alentejo-Andalusia (2016-2016) and vice-president of the Board of AD-ABC – Association for the Development of the Academic Center for Biomedical Research and Training of Algarve (2020-2020).

AlgarveSTP, through the words of the president of the Board of the General Assembly Vítor Aleixo, pays public praise to Francisco Serra for the “sense of responsibility, rigor and competence with which the professor carried out his mission as president of AlgarveSTP”.

AlgarveSTP will continue its mission with the leadership that was elected, with vice-president Paulo Santos (Municipality of Faro) with directors Hugo Barros (University of Algarve), José Carlos Rolo (Municipality of Albufeira), Ricardo Calé (Municipality of Olhão), Miguel Fernandes (Algarve Evolution) and Hugo Vieira (ANJE).

AlgarveSTP – Algarve Systems and Technology Partnership Association is a non-profit association, formed by public and private entities operating in the Algarve, whose mission is to promote and foster strategic partnerships in collaboration with the public sector, promoting scientific and technological development and the modernization of the regional business fabric.
