The Municipality of Faro unanimously approved, at the Chamber meeting on March 23rd, the proposal to open applications to support associations in the municipality for this year.
This decision, based on the “Amendment to the Regulation of Support for Associations of the Municipality of Faro” (published in nº2, 35 of the 2nd series of the Diário da República, on 19/02/2018), allows, according to the Municipality, the municipality to allocate the funds “to legally existing entities and bodies, with a view to executing works or holding events of interest to the municipality, as well as information and defense of citizens' rights and, also, activities of a social, cultural, educational, sporting, recreational or other nature of interest to the municipality».
«If there is a need to trigger the process of granting aid», the Municipality of Faro approved the opening of the application process, which will take place on the “Associativism” Platform, until the end of April.
In this way, the municipality states that «it continues its work to promote the development of the associative fabric in the areas of sport, culture, youth, social and defense of the animal cause, seeking to be an agent in creating a response to their needs and in pursuing the their development expectations, while actively contributing to improving the living conditions of the populations».
