Multimedia exhibition «Freedom is too much» shows the views of students from Olhão

«Freedom is too much – Free fragments for a reflection on the future» is a multimedia exhibition by students from professional courses at Escola Secundária Dr. Francisco Fernandes Lopes, in Olhão, which opens on April 19th, at 15:30 pm, at Chalé João Lúcio , and on April 20th, at 10 am, at the Olhão Municipal Museum.

«At a time of profound political and social crisis, but above all of enormous ideological regression, it seemed urgent to think about this. Can someone be truly free without having achieved freedom? Can a person understand what a revolution was without having lived it? Can someone not know what it is like to live in constant unrest and be able to be disturbed by the idea?». These were the questions that served as the starting point for the work.

A group of students from professional courses at the Dr. Francisco Fernandes Lopes Group of Schools were confronted with what they could not do if they had lived through the dictatorship in Portugal. And the challenge was to think about what can be done so that, in the future, this scenario does not occur again.

«They are multimedia records of a planned path but impetuously altered at each stage, with the contribution of everyone: young people who were born in freedom and those who in their time did not know it», explains Rui António, Multimedia teacher at that Group.

The authors of the works that will be exhibited are 2nd year students of the professional courses in Multimedia Technician, Management Support and Interior and Exterior Design at the Dr. Francisco Fernandes Lopes School Group, in Olhão.

The exhibitions, at Chalé João Lúcio and the Olhão Museum, are part of the Official Commemorations of the Commemorative Commission 50 years 25th of April and will be on display until April next year.
