Review of 12 years of the network of Cyclin'Portugal centers is made in Lagos

Yesterday and today

Experts from various parts of the country were this Friday, the 19th, in Lagos, to participate in the Cyclin'Portugal Forum, which took place in the auditorium of Paços do Concelho Séc. XXI, in this city.

The objective of the event was «to take stock of the work developed since 2012, share experiences and point out future paths to consolidate and expand the network of Cyclin' Portugal Centers, increase the use of existing infrastructures and their appropriation by the community», according to the Lagos Chamber.

The Cyclin' Portugal Center in Lagos, approved since 2019, was highlighted at the Forum, as an “example of monitoring and activation”.

This was, highlights the municipality, «a work supported by the promotion of partnerships established with the Algarve Tourism Region, the Portuguese Cycling Federation, the Union of Parishes of Bensafrim and Barão de São João, local sports clubs dedicated to mountain biking, Triathlon and Road Cycling, the two school groups and tourist entertainment companies».

On the occasion, the Cyclin' Portugal 2024 Yearbook was also presented and distributed, a publication that, in the words of Sandro Araújo, vice-president of the Portuguese Cycling Federation and project coordinator, «presents an authentic “menu” of cycling routes and much more» .

The event featured thematic sessions and presentations, continuing this Saturday with a workshop in Barão de São João, followed by field visits «so that participants can learn about the routes at the Centro Cyclin' Portugal in Lagos».
