British archaeologist talks about “The Greatest Female Pharaoh in Egypt” in São Brás and Lagoa

Campbell Price is curator at Manchester Museum

Campbell Price, curator at the Manchester Museum, in the United Kingdom, in the areas of Egypt and Sudan, is the guest speaker at the lecture “Hatshepsut: The Greatest Female Pharaoh in Egypt”, which the Algarve Archaeological Association will promote at the Costume Museum, in São Brás de Alportel, and at the Convent of São José, in Lagoa, on April 9th.

At the Costume Museum, the session will start at 14:30 pm. In Lagoa, the initiative will take place from 18pm.

«Unconventional, pious, ambitious and – above all – innovative, Queen Hatshepsut ruled Egypt between 1473 and 1458 BC. The monuments she left us are among the most beautiful in Ancient Egypt – despite her name being constantly attacked,” according to the event organizers.

In the lecture on the 9th, Campbell Price will reveal who this personality was, how she became “one of the most powerful women in the ancient world”, what her legacy is and why her name is being attacked.
