Alcoutim and CPCJ promote Child Abuse Prevention Month

The objective is to “raise awareness in the community and local entities about this cause”

The Municipality of Alcoutim and the Commission for the Protection of Children and Young People (CPCJ) come together to mark “April, Child Abuse Prevention Month”.

The objective is to «raise awareness among the community and local entities about this very important cause, a series of initiatives and activities are scheduled throughout the month».

The main highlight will be the lighting of the buildings of the Town Hall and the Parish Council of Martim Longo in shades of blue, the symbolic color of the campaign.

According to the municipality, the lighting will be on display throughout the month of April, «serving as a visible reminder of the commitment to combating child abuse».

In addition, communication pieces will be placed in public spaces to raise awareness of this topic.

On April 19th, a symbolic gesture of solidarity is carried out, with children forming a Human Bond at Praça da República in Alcoutim and at the Prof. Joaquim Moreira in Martim Longo.

«This event aims to raise awareness among the entire community about the reality of child abuse, and highlight the importance of everyone's role in defending children's rights», emphasizes the Municipality.

In addition to the planned activities, it is worth highlighting that the CPCJ of Alcoutim also renewed the image of its logo. The new logo design was created with the aim of presenting the concept of unity, strengthening the connections between those involved and making it more practical for personalizing communication pieces.

This new logo was developed based on the initial logo, which was created by students from Alcoutim schools. In addition to the logo, a new flyer was also developed to publicize the competencies of the CPCJ of Alcoutim and its location.
