Pollinator Week culminates with Earth Market in Mexilhoeira Grande

A week to talk about pollinators and their importance in agriculture

The third edition of “Pollinators Week” begins this Monday, the 18th, and runs until Saturday, March 23rd, including activities with schools, a webinar on “Pollinators and Agriculture”, workshops on Food and even a Market da Terra, in Mexilhoeira Grande.

Promoted by A Rocha Portugal, in partnership with the Mexilhoeira Grande Parish Council and the ESTAR e Viver Bem na Freguesia project and the Lagos City Council, there will be “a lot to learn, discover and even taste, among the various activities scheduled for citizens of all ages”.

Thus, on the 22nd, the webinar on “Pollinators and Agriculture” will take place, with guests Helena Castro and Catarina Siopa (both from the University of Coimbra), as well as Elisabete Figueiredo (ISA, University of Lisbon).

On Saturday, the 23rd, the village of Mexilhoeira Grande will host Mercado da Terra. From 15:00 pm to 19:00 pm, at the Parish Council warehouse, several local producers will come together to showcase their best products, in an event that will also have two workshops and an exhibition on «Microplastics and Garbage in the Sea», as well as « other surprises».
