There is no shortage of music and theater in the March program at the Albufeira Auditorium

Next show takes place on March 16th

Albufeira Dance and Classical Music Festival and “Peter Pan and the Secret of the Island of Three Eyes” are just some of the shows that make up the March calendar at the Albufeira Municipal Auditorium. 

The shows began on the 1st, with the Banda da Armada Portuguesa, with more than 500 years of existence, to star in a show integrated as part of the celebrations of the 50th anniversary of the 25th of April.

The “Carnation Revolution” passed through song, not only as a “throwing weapon” but as an instrument for forming consciences. A pleiad of composers and lyricists, featuring Zeca Afonso, among many others, in a concert conducted under the baton of maestro José Veloso.

On March 16th, from 19pm, the 00st Albufeira Dance and Classical Music Festival “Albufeira Classic” will take place.

The concert, with Mário Laginha's trio, is part of the premise of presenting the public with «musicians of excellence on the national and international scene». The pianist and composer will present some of the most recent compositions from his new album, namely songs such as: “Segundo Dia”, “Short Shore”, “Noturno op. 48 no 1”, “Ribeira da Barca”, “Valsa op. 34 no 2”, “Tanto Espaço” and “Tráfico”.

Tickets cost 10 euros and are on sale on the BOL platform, at the João Bailote Municipal Gallery (between 9:30 am and 12:30 pm and 13:30 pm and 17:00 pm, on weekdays) and at the Albufeira Municipal Auditorium (from 18:00 pm to 18:45 pm, on weekdays). of the show).

As part of the celebrations of World Theater Day, which takes place on March 27th, the Municipality organized two shows, one aimed at children and the other aimed at adults.

On Sunday, March 24th, from 15:30 pm, “Peter Pan and the Secret of the Island of Three Eyes” invites boys and girls over the age of three to “dream about adventures and a story of travel across the seven seas”.

Tickets cost 3 euros and are on sale on the BOL platform, at the Municipal Gallery and at the Municipal Auditorium (between 14pm and 00pm, on the day of the show).

“Definitely the Bahamas”, the main show of World Theater Day, takes place on the 27th, starting at 21:30 pm. It is a play by English playwright Martin Crimp written in 1986, for three actors from two different generations: the sexagenarian couple starring Custódia Gallego and Marques d'Arede; and the student originally from Galicia, by the young Galician actress Cristina Gayoso Rey.

Tickets cost 5 euros and are also on sale at BOL, the Municipal Gallery and the Auditorium (opens at 19:30 pm and 21:15 pm, on the day of the show).
