Baroque music, performed by two excellent groups specializing in ancient music, will be enjoyed at the Igreja do Carmo and Teatro Lethes, in Faro, this weekend.

Tomorrow's concert, Saturday, the 23rd, hosted by the group Ludovice Ensemble, will be presented at the Carmo church, at 21 pm.

Works by Michel-Richard De Lalande, Louis Couperin, Louis Marchand and Pierre Du Mage, suitable for the Lenten season, will be performed by Eduarda Melo, soprano, Sofia Diniz, on viola da gamba, and Fernando Miguel Jalôto, on organ.

The concert at Teatro Lethes, on Sunday, the 24th, at 16pm, will be performed by the group Sete Lágrimas, who will present their new work: The Portuguese Diaspora. Sounds of the Old and New World.

The group, composed of Filipe Faria, Sérgio Peixoto, Tiago Matias and Juan de la Fuente, will propose a trip that aims to evoke experiences “from six centuries of intense artistic sharing in a world interconnected for the first time by Portuguese caravels and marked, during this long time, through lights and shadows, pains and joys, violence and passion to which Music bears witness.”

This baroque weekend, produced by Associação Cultural Música XXI, was funded by the Municipal Council of Faro and the support of the Algarve Tourism Region and the Union of Parishes of Sé and S. Pedro

The show for Teatro Lethes has paid entry and is subject to reservations via email at [email protected].
