Registration for the Portimão Freedom Race has now opened

First phase of registrations runs until March 24th

The Portimão Freedom Race, which takes place on April 25th, is now open for registration.

The initiative, which this year marks the celebrations of the 50th anniversary of the Carnation Revolution, is made up of various routes and distances for all ages and will feature three test models, with the aim of ensuring that, whether running or walking, everyone will be able to participate.

Departing and finishing from the riverside area of ​​Portimão, the first race will be the Children's Race, scheduled for 9 am and aimed at boys and girls born between 00 and 2009, with five routes adjusted to the age of each participant.

The 10-kilometer race and the 5-kilometer walk, which will be the big news of this edition, both start at 10 am.

Registration is now open and, in the case of the 10 kilometer Race and Walk 5, there are two registration phases: the first until March 24th, with a cost of 10 euros in the case of the race, and 8 euros for the walk; the second phase, between March 25th and April 24th, will cost, respectively, 12 euros and 10 euros. In the case of the Children's Race, registration has a symbolic cost of 3 euros.

Delivery of the Athlete Kit, which varies depending on the race for which the participant is registered, will take place on the 23rd and 24th of April and the respective collection will be subject to the presentation of registration confirmation and identification document, and there will be no delivery of any type of kit on April 25th.

The Freedom Race is promoted by Portimão City Council, with technical organization from HMS Sports, and is part of the celebrations of the fiftieth anniversary of the 25th of April, being an integral part of a diverse program to mark half a century of the Carnation Revolution.
