A man was arrested last Wednesday, March 13, in Portimão, for possession of a prohibited weapon.
According to the PSP, the arrest occurred following a call for disorder in which a man allegedly wielded a knife.
Upon arrival at the scene, the police found that the man had in his possession two "large" knives and an ax, "which he claimed were for self-defense."
The suspect was immediately arrested and the weapons were seized, and he was notified to appear before the Judicial Authority yesterday.
