Training + Next promotes actions for the tourism sector in Portimão

During the month of March

The Municipality of Portimão and Turismo de Portugal started this month the plan for 2024 regarding the Training + Next Program, providing learning opportunities for businesspeople, managers and employees in the tourism sector.

Through the Portimão Hotel and Tourism School (EHTP), the actions are free and certified and aim to contribute to the qualification of those who work in the tourism sector, or who intend to do so, requiring mandatory prior registration.

Formação + Próxima is a free registration program, developed locally by schools in the sector in partnership with local authorities, with the aim of training a total of 2025 thousand professionals from across the country by 75, in a way adapted to the needs of the business sector. each municipality involved.

For March, the actions “Wine service: the art of serving well” are planned (on the 18th and 19th, registrations here) and “Tax obligations and benefits: business and professional income” (26th and 27th, registrations here), totaling 12 hours of training, followed by three trainings in April and two more in May.

Those interested in participating must register at the Academia Digital do Turismo de Portugal and subsequently register for the desired training, taking into account that places are limited.

The development of these initiatives in the municipality has the support of ATP – Associação Turismo de Portimão, APCS – Associação Portimonense do Comércio e Serviços and ACRAL – Associação do Comércio e Serviços da Região do Algarve.

«As the area of ​​sustainability occupies increasingly more importance in the business sector, the seminar “Global sustainability: challenges and solutions for a resilient future” is scheduled for March 8th at the EHTP facilities.

«The objective of the meeting is to foster sustainable awareness and education, stimulate innovation and sustainable technology and promote resource efficiency and waste reduction, while also aiming to boost the circular and sustainable economy, integrating sustainability into business strategy and management », says the Municipality of Portimão.

On the occasion, Ivo Carvalho will present the training offer in the area of ​​sustainability within the scope of the Training + Próxima program, while Pedro Glória will speak on the topic “Water Sustainability – problems and solutions. A perspective based on Ecological Economy, Agroecology, Design for Sustainability and Circularity”.

This is followed by Ion Volosciuc's intervention, to address the exploration of the potential of agroforestry waste in the creation of new sustainable materials, with Rui M. Mesquita dealing with municipal sustainability and challenges.
