Farense lost 3-2 against Sporting in the 24th round of the I Football League, played this Sunday, March 3, at the José de Alvalade Stadium. The Algarve team were two down, managed to draw, but were unable to hold on to the result.

The Lions started the game very well and took a two-goal lead. The first was appointed by Daniel Bragança, who was once a Farense player.

The Portuguese midfielder shot from the edge of the area into the back of the net, in the 11th minute.

Sporting's second came through Viktor Gyokeres. The cross was from Pote with the Swedish forward appearing at the near post (29′).

Farense knew how to react and reduced it with a great goal from Belloumi who shot in an arc with no chance for Franco Israel (33′).

The Algarve team appeared very well in the second half and even managed to equalize, with a header from Zé Luís following a corner (51′).

The most difficult thing seemed to be done, but equality didn't last long: in the 53rd minute, Esgaio assisted Pote who only had to tap in to make it 3-2.

With this result, Farense continues to have 26 points and is in 11th place. In the next round, the Algarve will visit Vizela.
