It could snow again tonight in the Serra de Monchique

Snow could fall again this morning in the Serra de Monchique, particularly in Fóia, the highest point in the Algarve, according to forecasts from the Portuguese Institute of the Sea and Atmosphere (IPMA).

This entity predicted, for the next 72 hours, precipitation, wind, sea agitation and snowfall in the highlands, «especially in the North and Center, gradually lowering the level to 600/800 meters, and snowfall may also occur in the São Mamede and Monchique mountains, in the early hours and morning of March 26th».

Precipitation may «sometimes be strong and persistent» and «hail and accompanied by thunderstorms, from Wednesday, March 27th».

In the case of the Algarve, a warning will also be active due to maritime unrest, which will be yellow from tomorrow, the 26th, at 9:00 am, turns orange between 15:00 pm on Tuesday until 9:00 am on the 27th of March and returns to the level yellow until the morning of March 28th.

A yellow warning has also been issued between 12pm and 00pm tomorrow due to strong winds.
