Among the ten municipalities in which Chega obtained the best results, five were located in the Algarve, a region where it was the political force with the most votes, according to data from the General Secretariat of the Ministry of Internal Administration.
The party led by André Ventura won more than 30% in five of the municipalities nationwide in which it obtained the highest votes in Sunday's legislative elections.
The highest percentage of votes was recorded in the municipality of Elvas, district of Portalegre, with 36,53% (4.150 votes).
Next are the municipalities of Albufeira, Lagoa and Portimão, all in the district of Faro, with 32,61% (6.774 votes), 31,14% (4.022 votes) and 30,53% (9.705 votes), respectively.
In Alentejo, it reached 30,45% (2.156 votes) in the municipality of Moura (Beja).
Among the municipalities in which it achieved the best results, Benavente (Santarém), Silves (Faro) and Mourão (Évora), with 29,98% (4.902 votes), 29,97% (5.796 votes), 29,77% (407 votes).
Valença (Viana do Castelo) was the 9th municipality in which it achieved the best result, with 29,56% (2.215 votes), followed by Olhão (Faro), with 29,33%.
The Democratic Alliance (AD), which brings together PSD, CDS and PPM, with 29,49%, won 79 deputies in the Assembly of the Republic, in Sunday's legislative elections, against 77 for the PS (28,66%), followed by It arrives with 48 elected deputies (18,06%).
IL, with eight seats, BE, with five, and PAN, with one, maintained the number of deputies. Livre went from one to four elected representatives while the CDU lost two seats and was left with four deputies.
