Catarina Marques says that CDU will return to the fight “tomorrow” despite having fewer votes in the Algarve

CDU had fewer votes than in 2022, in the constituency of Faro

Catarina Marques, the head of the CDU list for the Algarve circle, sees Chega's victory and the Algarve's shift to the right as a reflection of «the population's revolt at not seeing their problems resolved» and promises to return to the fight «tomorrow ».

In elections in which they sought to recover the deputy for the constituency, Faro in 2019 - again not elected in 2022 - the communists ended up having a worse result than two years ago and became the sixth political force in the Algarve, when in the previous elections they were the 5th.

«We will be here from tomorrow, to continue the fight for better wages, increased pensions and housing. Those who voted for us know that they can count on the CDU to defend the rights of workers and populations,” he told the Sul Informação Catarina Marques.

The CDU obtained 3,18% of the votes in the Algarve, a decrease compared to 2022, in which it obtained a percentage of 4,81%.
