ACASO wins second edition of the “Water and the Sea for Me” project

The awards ceremony took place last Friday, March 1st

The Activity Center for Training and Inclusion (ACASO – CACI) in Olhão was the big winner of the second edition of the “Water and the Sea for Me” project, promoted by Águas do Algarve.

The awards ceremony took place last Friday, March 1st, at Teatro das Figuras, where 22 works were presented.

Second place was awarded to the work of the Specialized Center for the Inclusive Citizen of Lagos and third to the Portuguese Association of Cerebral Palsy of Faro.

«The Ceremony was marked by several special moments, bringing together several social solidarity institutions from the Algarve, in an atmosphere of joy and fulfillment, in which the theme of water was the center of all interventions», says Águas do Algarve in a note.

Honorable mentions were also given to the Associação com Contacto (Tavira), the Serra do Caldeirão Barranco Velho Social Solidarity Institution, the Sports and Recreational Association, the Cultural and Social Center of Quinta de S.
Pedro (Lagoa), Centro Popular de Lagoa and Children's Home of Portimão (1-2 year old classrooms, 4-5 year old classrooms, Polo da Ouriva – JI Pre-school).

The remaining IPSS were given Certificates of Participation.

The ceremony began with a musical moment, with a performance by the Algarve Conservatory, with Choreography
by professor Ana Alberto, from the Royal Academy of Dance, and with the Interpreters Constança Vasquez, Lara Caixinha, Maria Nunes and Rita Pereira.

“Vital Flow: An Ode to Water” conveys the message that water is not only an essential resource, but also a symbol of life, beauty and connection to the natural world.

The works presented will be available for viewing at the Portuguese Youth Institute, Faro, (opening of the exhibition on the 4th of March, at 15pm, and closing on the 00st of the same month; Conservatório Regional do Algarve Maria Campina, Faro (exhibition opening on March 19th, at 19pm, and closing on April 00th); Gran-Plaza shopping center, Tavira (opening of the exhibition on the 30st of June, at 1pm, and closing on the 15th.

Promoted by Águas do Algarve within the scope of the company's strategy in the areas of Communication, Environmental Education and Social Responsibility, and included in the Água é Vida Awareness Campaign, this is an action aimed at users of Private Social Solidarity Institutions, promoting reflection and awareness of the importance and appreciation of Water and the Sea, associated with the situation of water scarcity experienced in the Algarve.
