An earthquake of magnitude 3.1 (Richter) with an epicenter approximately 40 kilometers southwest of Faro It was recorded this Sunday, February 18th, at 18:16 pm.
According to IPMA, there is, for now, no information confirming that this earthquake was felt, but the Sul Informação received reports from people who felt, in Faro.
In a note, IPMA recalls that «locating the epicenter of an earthquake is a complex physical and mathematical process that depends on the data set, algorithms and seismic wave propagation models» and that «different agencies may produce slightly different results ».
