This month's “Let's answer questions about…” session, scheduled for February 23rd, at 21pm, at the Quarteira branch of the Loulé Municipal Library, will focus on mental health and will be attended by psychologist Cláudia Luísa.
In a note, the Chamber of Loulé emphasizes that this is an issue «of important relevance in today's society, to which more and more attention is given».
In this session, mental problems will be demystified, mental health prevention and promotion strategies will be shared, as well as life experiences.
«There is no health without mental health. According to the WHO (2020), mental health should be seen as a valuable source of human capital and well-being, therefore its prevention in society is a priority, regardless of its characteristics», considered the speaker.
Cláudia Luísa has a PhD with International Mention in Health and Quality of Life, from the University of Huelva, as well as in Psychology, from the University of Algarve.
She has a master's degree in Health and Quality of Life, from the University of Huelva and a degree in Education and Community Intervention, from the School of Education and Communication of the University of Algarve, and a degree in Clinical Psychology, from the Instituto Superior Dom Afonso III.
The speaker is also a professor at the Higher School of Education and Communication at the University of Algarve since 2005, belongs to the Department of Social Sciences and the Scientific Area of Psychology and is director of the Master's Course in Social Gerontology.
He teaches in several study cycles, namely in the 1st Cycle of Social Education, Master's in Special Education – Cognitive and Motor Domains, Master's in Pre-School Education and Master's in Social Gerontology.
Cláudia Luís also belongs to the Research Center for Adult Education and Community Intervention – CEAD. She is the author and co-author of different articles, book chapters and books.
