Association that brings together pumpkin producers wants to promote the consumption of this food

“If you love me, give me pumpkins… and we will make perfect mixes!” is the campaign launched by Love Butternut, an association that brings together Portuguese and Spanish pumpkin producers, to celebrate Valentine's Day and promote pumpkin consumption.

According to the Association, with this campaign, the producers intend to “captivate the consumer, show the versatility of this vegetable, which “matches” with a multitude of other ingredients and results in “Perfect Mixes” that please even the most demanding palates. , as well as remembering the nutritional advantages of this food».

On social media and on the website Love Butternut, the consumer can access all the information about the campaign, which includes a contest on social media and several recipes – all of them using pumpkin.

In addition to this, the association created a filter for Instagram that allows users to become “pumpkin” and randomly choose an ingredient to create a “Perfect Mix”.

Love Butternut was launched in 2021 by pumpkin producers who, through a joint marketing strategy, intend to show the gastronomic versatility and nutritional benefits of this food.

«The mission of Love Butternut, which has the participation of the main pumpkin producers in Portugal, is to encourage the consumption of this vegetable. Portugal is the third largest pumpkin producer in Europe, just behind Spain and France. The production volume is 60 thousand tons and 90% of Butternut pumpkin is destined for export», the note reads.
