Drug trafficker wanted by British authorities detained in Algarve

Judicial Police were responsible for the arrest

A drug trafficker who was wanted by the British authorities and was subject to an international arrest warrant was arrested in the Algarve area by the Judiciary Police, in an operation that resulted from police cooperation between the PJ and the National Crime Agency (NCA) of the United Kingdom.

The location of the suspect in the crime of drug trafficking and his subsequent arrest, by the PJ's Criminal Information Unit, «was possible, in less than 24 hours, through the exchange of police information with the NCA, which is leading the fight against serious and organized crime in the United Kingdom”.

Pending extradition, the Évora Court of Appeal ordered that the suspect be held in preventive detention.
