Castro Marim signs protocol with hunters to install fire defense network

The Municipality of Castro Marim yesterday signed a collaboration protocol with hunting clubs and associations in the municipality to improve effectiveness in mitigating climate change and the installation of a defense network against rural fires, through the execution of portions of the network of trails. fuel management.

Within the scope of the fuel management bands, the associations that signed the protocol at the Castro Marim Local Market will now be responsible for the installation and maintenance of annual dryland sown pastures.

This landscape mosaic contributes to the defense against rural fires and also to the improvement of the habitat in its ecological functions, attributing environmental benefits at ground level to the biodiversity and ecosystems of the landscapes.

The protocol translates into financial support of more than 56 thousand euros and can cover 17 associations and clubs in the municipality.
