The Algarve was the European region in which the Gross Domestic Product grew the most, in 2022, compared to 2020, revealed Eurostat in a note released on Tuesday, the 20th.
According to the European Union Statistical Service, Algarve GDP growth last year was 17%. Also highlighted is another Portuguese NUT II, the Autonomous Region of Madeira, which was second at European level (+14,2%).
In global terms, Gross Domestic Product grew in 231 of the 242 regions of the European Union, compared to 2021
The Portuguese regions are all among those that grew.
