Alexandre Graça elected president of the UAlg Social-Democratic Student Center

Organ reactivated after long inactivity

Alexandre Graça was elected president of the Social Democratic Student Center of the University of Algarve (UAlg), on the 16th of February, having headed the only list that stood for elections.

After a long inactivity of this body, the now-elected president and his team say they are “willing to do everything they can to bring and bring the topic of Politics closer to UAlg students.

Alexandre Graça highlights that, «more important than winning the elections and assuming the presidency of this body, is bringing the topic of Politics to the academic world and simplifying it».

Stating that he has “complete confidence in his team”, he promises to “be very proactive and successful” during the 2024-2025 mandate. «Transforming the present is building the future! This will be the motto and the main difference of this body», highlights Alexandre Graça.

«We will present a manifesto, with flags and achievable events, as we have a list of capable, do-it-yourself and competent people, with focus and determination to lead the destinies of this generation that has been forgotten», says the young social-democratic student.

André Ribeiro, president of the Board, adds that «this structure was born with the purpose of building an alternative to the path the country has followed, in which young people can once again believe».

Throughout this year in office, Alexandre Graça will be accompanied by vice-president João Ricardo, general secretary Mariana Marques, members Diogo Cordeiro, Joana Silva, Duarte Dias and «all those who want to join this cause».

Presiding over the Plenary Board is André Ribeiro, accompanied by vice-president Hugo Almada and secretary Leonor Jesus.
