Maritime unrest keeps the entire Algarve and Alentejana coast under orange warning

Warning on the south and west coast of the Algarve, as well as on the Alentejo coast. extends until 6:00 in the morning

This Tuesday, the 27th, the entire coastline of mainland Portugal is under orange warning due to maritime unrest, announced the Portuguese Institute of the Sea and Atmosphere (IPMA).

The orange warning, the second most serious on a scale of three, is in effect in the districts of Aveiro and Coimbra until 03:00, while on the south and west coast of the Algarve, as well as on the Alentejo coast and also in the district of Leiria, it extends for another three hours, highlights the IPMA.

During this period, the IPMA predicts “northwest waves with a significant height of five to six meters, reaching a maximum height of 11 meters”.
