Two restaurants located on Vau beach, in Portimão, were partially destroyed today following a fire that was extinguished at 07:10 am, a Maritime Police source told Lusa.
The same source said that the fire did not cause any casualties, with authorities carrying out recovery work.
A source from the Algarve Sub-Regional Command told Lusa that the alert for the fire was given at 06:15 am, with 07 operational personnel at the site at 10:22 am, with members of the Portimão, Lagoa and Monchique Fire Department, PSP, Maritime Authority and Municipal Service of Civil Protection, with the support of 10 vehicles.
The same sources said that the causes of the fire are not yet known.
