Hotels in the Algarve had less occupancy in December 2023 than in 2019

Compared to 2022, the occupancy rate increased

The average occupancy rate per room in hotels in the Algarve was 34,8% in December, 1,2 percentage points lower than in 2019, the last pre-pandemic tourist year, but 1,4 pp higher. compared to 2022, revealed today, the 8th, the Association of Hotels and Tourist Enterprises of the Algarve.

The average stay was 3,5 nights, «0,1 more than in the same month of 2022». The longest average stays “were those in the Swedish market, with 8,7 nights, and the Dutch market, with 7,2”.
