GNR detains 48 people in one week in the Algarve

GNR made the usual weekly assessment of the

27 people were arrested in the Algarve in the week between January 15th and 21st in different operations carried out by the GNR, most of them for road traffic offences.

Of those arrested, six were for driving without a license, five for drug trafficking and four for driving under the influence of alcohol.

In the different operations, 51 doses of hashish, 20 doses of heroin, three shotguns, 26 lead cartridges, four bullet cartridges, articles of clothing, electronic material and various tools were seized.

In traffic, 566 infractions were detected, highlighting: 121 for speeding; 47 due to lack of mandatory periodic inspection; 45 related to anomalies in lighting and signaling systems;
33 for improper use of a cell phone while driving; 20 for lack of civil liability insurance; 16 due to lack of or incorrect use of a seat belt and/or child restraint system.

103 accidents were recorded, resulting in three serious injuries and 25 minor injuries.
