Naval Club Gym Faro celebrated 96 years with dinner

The Naval Club Gym Faro celebrated, last Friday, January 19th, his 96th birthday with a dinner at the Hotel EVA.

The moment was attended by Paulo Santos, vice-president of the Chamber of Faro, Custódio Moreno, director of the Portuguese Institute of Sports and Youth, José Apolinário, president of the Algarve Regional Coordination and Development Commission, and Alcina Sousa, director of Docapesca in the Algarve.

The start of this celebration began with a brief video speech by the president of the club's General Assembly Marta Sancho.

There were several moments of appreciation for the effort that athletes, employees and members dedicate to improving the club, both in terms of the services provided and in terms of the prestige associated with the national and international results of each of its athletes, in the different modalities.

João Godinho Marques, president of the Ginásio Clube Naval de Faro, began by addressing some words of appreciation to everyone present, also thanking the entities “for all the support they have been providing to the club in recent years, on a path guided above all by the evolution and overcoming of all the integral parts of our DNA ».

At the end of his speech, João Marques also paid tribute to three entities that have proven to be crucial for the growth of the club and sports in the region: the Municipality of Faro, the IPDJ and the CCDR.

The president also said that "the future is expected to be full of new challenges and opportunities, so we are counting on all of you to help us further promote the practice of sport in the region, and fuel our athletes' ambition to go even further , with the flag of our country on our chest", and there are also many achievements that lie ahead for the club and the region.
