Faro there will be a network of electric vehicle charging stations

Currently, three electric vehicle charging stations are already installed

Faro there will be a network of electric vehicle charging stations, with 34 locations in total. 

At the moment, three charging stations for electric vehicles have already been installed - (normal semi-fast stations) on Avenida 5 de Outubro, Praça Salgueiro Maia and Rua Professor José de Sousa Ferradeira, in Montenegro -, with the installation of more four posts in the coming months.

In addition to these, licenses for normal semi-fast stations were also granted for the following locations: Parish Council of Montenegro; Parish Council of Faro; Train station; Tangier Square; Largo de S. Sebastião; Rua Doutor Teresa Ramalho Ortigão (next to Alameda João de Deus); Municipal Library of Faro; parking next to the Sports Pavilion; Rua Doutor José Filipe Álvares; EB 2,3 from Montenegro.

Fast charging stations are also planned on Rua Aquilino Ribeiro (Montenegro); Largo de São Francisco; Pavilion/Municipal Swimming Pool; Rua de Santa Bárbara and Rua da Universidade (Montenegro).

According to the Chamber of Faro, «these stations are being installed in accordance with the rules set out in the respective regulation, which aims to guarantee that the electric mobility network, as an integrated set of electric vehicle charging stations and other infrastructures, with public access, will respond to current needs and future ones, ensuring the fluidity of circulation on the various road channels in the municipality of Faro, while ensuring careful management of the use of public space».
