Farense beat Gil Vicente 1-0 in the 16th round of the I Football League, played this Saturday, January 6th, at the S. Luís Stadium, in Faro.
In a match without great chances of goals, a goal from Vítor Gonçalves, in the second half's added time, earned the Algarve team three points.
Behind, there was an entire match in which Ricardo Velho, Farense's goalkeeper, was once again one of the best players on the field, defending good chances from Gil Vicente in the 14th, 25th and 63rd minutes.
For Farense, the best chance had been a header against the bar, by Cláudio Falcão, at the end of the first half.
Vítor Gonçalves was then the hero, with a goal in the 91st minute, after a cross from Elves. Zé Carlos made a bad cut, Andrew still saved, but, on the rebound, the Farense midfielder appeared to touch the back of the goal.
With this victory, the Algarve team has 21 points and is currently in 7th place in the I League.
