Former president of the Academic Association is head of the Livre pelo Algarve list

Maria João Bernardo is the representative of the candidacy

Rodrigo Teixeira, former president of the Academic Association of the University of Algarve (AAUAlg), is the head of Livre pelo Algarve's list in the Legislative Elections on March 10th. 

After voting in primary elections, Rodrigo Teixeira, 30 years old, born in Faro, final year student of the Integrated Masters in Pharmaceutical Sciences at the University of Algarve, was chosen as the head of the list.

Rodrigo Teixeira has extensive experience in student associations, having been president of the Academic Association of the University of Algarve in the 2016 and 2017 terms.

In addition, he was vice-president of the Board of Directors of the Pharmaceutical Sciences Student Center (NECiFarm) at AAUAlg and president of the Pedagogical Center of the Faculty of Science and Technology at AAUAlg.

In 2017, he became the second president of the Algarve academy to be elected as national representative of Higher Education students, by his peers, at the National Meeting of Associative Directors (ENDA) for the Youth Advisory Council (CCJ), with the Secretariat of State for Sports and Youth, as well as the Advisory Council of the Portuguese Institute of Sports and Youth (IPDJ).

He was a student representative for the university subsystem on the General Council of the University of Algarve, the Institution's highest body, between 2017 and 2019.

In 2018, he was elected as a delegate to the General Assembly of the Academic Federation of University Sports (FADU) and, in 2019, he was elected as director of the Department of Educational Policy of the Portuguese Association of Pharmacy Students (APEF), and is also a member of the Political Committee of the National Forum of Health Students (FNES).

Maria João Bernardo is the representative of Livre's candidacy for the Algarve. Graduated in Anthropology, she lives in Castro Marim, where she runs the restaurant of an organic farm in the same location, promoting the Mediterranean Diet and Km Zero food.

A member of Livre since 2015, he was a member of the party's Assembly (2016-2022) and has been a member of the Algarve Local Coordination Group since 2020.
