Music and dance from Al-Andalus and the Middle East performs at the Lagoa Auditorium

The music and dance show from Al-Andalus and the Middle East “Funun Takht” is scheduled for February 24th, at 19pm, at the Carlos do Carmo Auditorium, in Lagoa, as part of the Al-Mutamid Music Festival.

The group “Funun Takht” presents the program “Melodies of Al-Sharq Wa Al-Gharb”. It is a sound journey from the place where Ziryab was born, present-day Iraq (Al-Sharq – East) to the Caliphate of Córdoba (Al-Gharb – West).

In addition to traditional themes inspired by the great musician and singer Ziryab (789-857), the group also presents contemporary themes from different countries in the Arab world. “Funun Takht” is accompanied by an oriental dancer.
