Rita Tavares will take office this Thursday, December 7th, at 17pm, as the new president of the Academic Association of the University of Algarve, in a ceremony that will also serve to award scholarships funded by AAUAlg.
The young Economics student was the only candidate in the elections that took place on November 7th. Rita Tavares obtained 90% of the votes (959 out of a total of 1072 votes).
The moment, which will also mark the end of Fábio Zacarias' mandate, will also serve to award 52 scholarships, worth 697 euros, within the scope of the “AAUAlg+ Scholarships” project.
Of these 52, the Chambers of Faro and from Lagoa, 10 will participate each. Well Vale do Lobo will contribute 5.
The remaining 27 will be settled by AAUAlg.
Coming from the positive financial results in the main academic events in the Algarve, such as the Algarve Academic Week and the Freshman Reception, AAUAlg guaranteed that all students who saw their process at DGES as rejected will receive the respective scholarship corresponding to the academic year 2023/2024.
This year, AAUAlg will extend the AAUAlg+ Scholarships program to Masters students at the University of Algarve.
