The Budget and Major Plan Options for 2024 of the Monchique City Council, worth around 24 million euros, were approved at the Municipal Assembly meeting yesterday, December 18th.
These two documents, as well as the Municipality's personnel map, had been approved at a Chamber meeting on December 6th, with 4 votes in favor and one abstention, they were now submitted to the Municipal Assembly, with 12 votes in favor and 5 abstentions.
The completion of the new air and civil protection center, the rehabilitation of the EB 2,3 Manuel do Nascimento School or the implementation of energy efficiency in swimming pools and other municipal buildings are some of the main projects planned for next year.
Also noteworthy is the rehabilitation of Parque da Vila (mountain biking center, natural amphitheater, two children's parks, paddle tennis court, skate park, street workout, pool bar and new urban furniture), for the recovery of the road network (municipal roads and paths), for the restoration of the S. Sebastião Car Park and also for the construction of housing in Monchique and Marmelete.
«These documents thus reflect the continuity of political objectives, constituting working instruments framed in the real needs of the population of Monchique, resulting in the new paradigm of municipal management», highlights the Chamber, in a press release.
