How about an “Algarvian” book in your shoe?

Suggestions for last-minute Christmas shopping, but full of wisdom

Giving books still remains one of the best Christmas gifts. A book opens doors, opens up worlds and can make you travel without leaving the place.

In these last days before Christmas, when everyone is going crazy buying the latest Christmas gifts, the Sul Informação Below, we present some suggestions for books launched this year by authors from the Algarve – or those who reside here – in the most varied genres.

«Portuguese mistakes never again», by Analita Santos

The book «Erros de Português Nunca Mais», by Analita Santos, who is a regular contributor to Sul Informação As a chronicler, it is already in its second edition and has sold well across the country.

In fact, fifteen days after its release, the book «Erros de Português Nunca Mais» was in Bertrand's top national sales list for non-fiction books (between the book by Annie Ernaux, a Nobel Prize-winning writer for Literature, and the biography of the richest man in the world).

In this book, the Algarve author invites all those for whom writing is an essential tool and all those who want to ensure clear communication to join the challenge of learning the correct form of words and linguistic expressions in which it is most common to fail, presenting them in the right context, with simple and understandable examples, so that they are not repeated again.

The book, with a beautiful cover (the eyes eat too, right?), is much more than a guide to putting an end to grammatical and linguistic mistakes once and for all. Each doubt is illustrated by an excerpt from a Portuguese author, which adds depth to the work.

The book is on sale in the main bookstores, physical and online: Bertrand, Fnac, Wook. It costs 14,90 euros.

«Lithium», by José Carlos Barros

But this year José Carlos Barros has already published a book of poetry, «Li – Lítio», which is on sale online at Flan de Tal publishing house. As the poet is from Boticas, where a lithium mine is planned for, which was even at the basis of the current political crisis, and as he is a landscape architect and a person very connected to nature, it is no wonder that he chose such a title for this booklet of his. poetry.

Francisco José Viegas considered it «a beautiful book of poems», adding: «a person goes through the slopes, forests, crosses streams, everything in that geography of Trás-os-Montes, and the lithium thing is there, like a blade» .
