Orquestra do Algarve ends the year with Haydn, Beethoven and Bach

For the beginning of the year, the already traditional New Year's concert is planned, at Cineteatro Louletano, with two sessions

Orchestral concerts, the traditional New Year's show, in Loulé, and two concerts with maestro Bruno Borralhinho. The Orquestra do Algarve will have a series of concerts in December and at the beginning of the year.

The first is already scheduled for this long weekend. On Saturday, December 9th, Bruno Borralhinho will give a concert from 18pm, at the Gambelas Campus of the University of Algarve.

Under the direction of conductor and cellist Bruno Borralhinho, OAlgarve Orchestra will perform works by authors such as Frederick Delius, Joseph Haydn and Ludwing Van Beethoven.

The concert, which is free to enter, follows a theme that tells the story of fire as a source of light and enlightenment, culminating in one of Beethoven's most energetic and expansive scores.

On Sunday, 10th, Bruno Borralhinho will conduct another concert, but at the Sé de Silves, starting at 19pm.

Tickets cost 7,5 euros and will be on sale on site.

Conductor and cellist Bruno Borralhinho is one of the most acclaimed Portuguese names in Europe, where his career alternates between the podium and the cello. Based in Germany, Borralhinho performed concerts to enormous critical acclaim and usually develops his activity in Portugal with the National Symphony Orchestra or Gulbenkian Orchestra.
