The renovation work on the Ferragudo Sports Hall, an investment of more than 370 thousand euros, has already been completed, announced the Lagoa Chamber.
The end of the work, promoted by the municipality, was marked in a ceremony that took place on December 16th, which preceded a match between ACD de Ferragudo and Basquetebol Clube de Barcelos, for the round of XNUMX of the Portuguese Cup.
The intervention in the Ferragudo Sports Hall «focused on the requalification of the existing roof and the rainwater drainage system, including the replacement of the floor, with unique characteristics on the market, being one of the best sports floors today, the acquisition of markers electronic equipment, new basketball tables, new decoration of the venue, as well as improving access to the nave itself», according to the Câmara de Lagoa.
These interventions occurred because the Nave Desportiva de Ferragudo “already had problems for a few years at this point, due to the fact that the ACD of Ferragudo had guaranteed promotion to the Liga Betclic Feminina, last season, and the Municipality of Lagoa had to adapt this sports venue to the requirements of the Portuguese Basketball Federation».
«Only with this intervention did ACD de Ferragudo become capable of playing Betclic League games at home. It is important to note that all equipment placed in the Ferragudo Sports Hall, such as the floor, tables and markers are certified by the International Basketball Federation (FIBA)», according to the municipality.
With this intervention, «in addition to the previously mentioned renovations, the Ferragudo Sports Center also became prepared to host official games in handball and futsal».
