Luca Argel will close the “Outono na Aldeia” programming cycle with a concert this Saturday, December 9th, starting at 22pm, at Casa do Povo in Santo Estêvão, municipality of Tavira.

Luca Argel was born in 1988 in Rio de Janeiro, but settled in Portugal, where he has lived for over 10 years.

He has a degree in Music from the University of Rio de Janeiro and a master's degree in Literature from the University of Porto. The artistic trajectory of singer, composer and writer Luca Argel began in 2012 with the release of his first book “I forgot to fix the graffiti”.

Soon after, a sudden move to Portugal ended up awakening new musical and poetic paths. He is a singer and composer for the groups Samba Sem Fronteiras, Orquestra Bamba Social and, together with Ana Deus, for the Ruído Vário project, based on the poetry of Fernando Pessoa.

As an author, he has published poetry books in Brazil, Spain and Portugal, one of which was a semi-finalist for the 2017 Oceanos Prize. For two years he signed the daily section “Boi com Abóbora” on Rádio Nova (Porto).

He works regularly creating soundtracks for cinema and dance, and under his own name he has released 5 albums. In 2016 he released his debut album “Tipos que tend para o silencio”, followed by “Bandeira”, in 2017, and “Conversa de Fila”, in 2019.

In 2021 he returns to publishing with the acclaimed “Samba de Guerrilha”, a conceptual album highlighted by Antena 3 as one of the best releases of the year in Portugal.

He has also collaborated with other artists, such as “Garota não”, with the song “Países que nobody invade”.

At Casa do Povo in Santo Estêvão, the musician will perform in a trio, with Pri Azevedo on keyboard and Carlos César Motta on drums and percussion.
