Grupo Timing brought together 170 Refood users for a solidarity lunch

The lunch was prepared and organized, both by external workers at Timing – including cooks and waiters, all volunteers – and by employees from the different companies of the Group.

The Timing Group organized, last Saturday, December 9th, a solidarity Christmas lunch that brought together 170 Refood users, at Escola Secundária João de Deus, in Faro.

According to Inês Narciso, manager of Timing's recent Social Responsibility department, this was the «second edition of the Timing Group's solidarity Christmas lunch».

«The objective I shared with our social responsibility manager who joined us this year is to hold the biggest solidarity lunch in Portugal, in Faro. To reach this goal, we want, year after year, to visibly increase the number of guests,” he added.

«We went from 80 to 170 from 2022 to 2023, and we will certainly bring together users from other institutions in addition to Refood next year. As I always say, if we take care of each other, life goes better for everyone", he said.

The lunch was prepared and organized, both by external workers at Timing – including cooks and waiters, all volunteers – and by employees from the different companies of the Group, totaling 47 people.

The entertainment was provided by four different artists: Pedro Viola (fado singer), Grupo Cantares da Ria, Carlos Coelho (singer, Portuguese popular music) and Sandrine (Portuguese popular music) and, in the end, everyone was entitled to a gift .

«We want this initiative to serve as an example for many more companies to do so and, together, we can reach those who need it most. We want to inspire other companies to actively get involved in social causes and work together to build fairer and more equal communities», concludes Ricardo Mariano, CEO of Grupo Timing.
