Catarina Marques is once again head of the CDU list for the Algarve

CDU has the objective of electing a deputy for the Algarve, and the last one to achieve this was Paulo Sá in 2015

Catarina Marques will once again be the head of the CDU list, for the Algarve, in the next Legislative Elections, scheduled for March 10th.

The announcement was made this Wednesday, December 20th, in a public event held at the Maktostas café, in Faro.

Catarina Marques had already been, in 2021, the head of the communist list, and was then unable to be elected as deputy.

At 46 years old, Catarina Marques is a Special Education teacher and coordinator of the Union of Unions of the Algarve.

She was also a member of the board of the Montenegro Sports Club and president of the Association of Parents and Guardians of the Montenegro School Group. She was elected municipal deputy in Faro and is a member of the Board of the Algarve Regional Organization of the PCP

In the session in which she was announced as head of the list, Catarina Marques spoke of the daily struggle that families have to “pay bills and feed their children”.

«On the other hand, we have large economic and financial groups accumulating scandalous profits and appropriating the wealth that is generated by workers. And an essential question arises: do we want to continue like this or do we want another path, an alternative, a change of direction?”, he asked.

«I think the answer is not difficult and that we really want an alternative that only the CDU is in a position to lead. We need a policy that values and is committed to the progress of the Algarve and to improving the living and working conditions of those here,” he added.

Furthermore, the CDU has the objective of electing a deputy for the Algarve. The last one to achieve it was Paulo Sá in 2015.
