The Chamber of Faro will allocate a budget of 6970 euros to the Academic Association of the University of Algarve, to support the implementation of the AAUAlg+ Scholarships initiative, which aims to help students in need at the institution.
The amount allocated is equivalent to 10 scholarships, according to the Faro municipality.
This measure, approved at the last Chamber Meeting, takes “into account the economic and social need of families of young university students” and aims to contribute to “the inclusion and educational success of students”, according to the Chamber of Faro.
At the same time, the Municipality of Faro approved the award of 16 scholarships to students in the municipality – 11 for secondary education students and 5 for higher education students – for the 2023/2024 academic year, in accordance with the criteria set out in its Scholarship Regulations (minor household per capita income, greater number of student siblings and better school performance).
