The text “Tanque”, the most recent work by Sofia Perpétua, winner of the 3rd edition of Nova Dramaturgia de Autoria Feminina, awarded within the scope of “Estanoite scream-se”, will be read at the final event of this feast of theater readings, which will take place, for the first time, at the Municipal Library of Faro, on December 14th, at 21pm.

The interpretation will be in charge of Inês Garrido, Miguel Maia, Paula Neves, Rita Silvestre and Sandro Feliciano.

The text “Tanque” «is a critical piece with current themes, but endowed with great comedy. Set against the backdrop of a contemporary war, the play follows the journey of a young woman who decided to steal a military tank to fetch her brother from the front, and who along the way meets other human beings equally affected by the armed conflict. Evoking the theater of the absurd, the text offers intense passages of reflection on our contemporary condition in a state of war», according to the company Cepa Torta, which organizes the Festim de Leituras.

With Nova Dramaturgia de Autoria Feminina, the festival's promoters intend to «strengthen the voice of dramaturgy written in the feminine».
