APAL has 280 thousand euros to promote Albufeira's tourist offer in 2024

Albufeira Promotion Agency will carry out actions together in several markets

The Albufeira Promotion Agency (APAL) will have a budget of 280 thousand euros for 2024, following the approval of the Budget and Activity Plan, by the association's General Assembly, on Tuesday, December 19th.

The activity plan “includes several promotional actions distributed throughout the year. The various workshops stand out, in a model that has been followed in partnership with associates, where the destination is presented to the press and operators, simultaneously developing a series of work meetings, commercial contacts and business opportunities», according to APAL.

The association plans to organize actions in Porto and the North of Portugal, in Spain (Seville and Madrid), in the United Kingdom, in Germany and in the United States (Boston and New York).

«In terms of fairs and promotional events, APAL will be present at BTL – Lisbon Tourism Exchange (February) and Top Resa, in Paris (October), in both cases with its own stand. Participation in fairs is organized in partnership with members and local authorities. In this case, registered participants can have access to a service desk and areas for meetings and presentations, under advantageous conditions», the association also revealed.

In 2024, APAL celebrates its 20th anniversary and «the management will take advantage of the anniversary to reformulate its entire institutional and promotional image».

Throughout the year, several actions are planned to mark the date. «Of particular note is the change in APAL's corporate image, with a new logo and respective applications, a completely redesigned member guide, a corporate magazine, a new promotional video and a book publication with articles and reflections on the sector».

One of the highlights of the program will be the event celebrating APAL's 20th anniversary, «the format of which will be presented soon. The objective is to organize an exhibition of associates that includes presentations and conferences, networking sessions and a gala dinner».

«The reinforcement of online promotion and the development of digital campaigns is also one of the objectives included in the activity plan, with campaigns aimed at specific markets that can promote products, specific times of the year, opportunities and promotions. This investment also involves reformulating the APAL promotional website and articulation with the investment in content creation, social networks and digital marketing».

For Desidério Silva, president of the APAL board, «2024 will be a decisive year for us to affirm APAL as a player fundamental in the local business context, focused on promoting the Albufeira brand, but also a stage for sharing, debate and reflection».

The leader reinforces the idea that it is important to «give a new impetus to this association» and presents some of the measures to be implemented, namely the «renewal of the institutional image, the development of a special program dedicated to APAL's 20th anniversary, the presentation of new institutional and promotional communication supports and the focus on putting into practice much of what resulted from meetings held with our associates and entities linked to the sector, implementing a consensual strategy that represents an added value for Albufeira, as well as for companies and entities which are linked to APAL».
