The Albufeira Promotion Agency (APAL) decided to grant the status of “Honorary Member” to the Humanitarian Association of Volunteer Firefighters of Albufeira.
The decision intends, according to the agency, «to recognize the valuable work carried out by this Association throughout the territory, fundamental to the valorization of Albufeira as a safe and reliable destination».
On the other hand, the measure aims to «allow the development of synergies between Firefighters and APAL associates, with a view to establishing partnerships that translate into training programs and prevention actions, in terms of safety and protection at work».
The measure was marked symbolically with a visit to the barracks last Tuesday and the delivery of a king cake to each of the Albufeira Firefighters. The initiative had the support of member Epic Sana.
For Desidério Silva, president of the APAL board, «partnership with local institutions is within our priorities, even more so with the Firefighters who play a fundamental role in enhancing our destiny».
For the director, “while on the one hand, it is important that we give visibility to these measures to motivate our associates and the community in general to actively collaborate with this institution, it is also important that we promote training and knowledge sharing among professionals linked to the sector tourism, within the scope of the protection of people and goods».
